TRANSMIT Showcased at European Researchers’ Night in Hungary

The TRANSMIT project reached a broad audience on 26 September 2025, when it was showcased during the European Researchers’ Night in Hungary. The activity was organised and promoted by project partner BZN - Bay Zoltán Nonprofit Ltd. for Applied Research, at its Miskolc site, as part of the nationwide celebration of science and innovation.

Engaging the Public With Next-Generation Solar Technologies

Within the event’s “Beyond the HORIZON” programme, BZN presented TRANSMIT through an informative poster highlighting the project’s vision for semi-transparent micro-striped thin-film photovoltaics—a breakthrough approach that enables ordinary windows to generate clean energy while maintaining visibility and architectural quality.

Visitors were invited to learn about the project and complete a short questionnaire related to the international R&D initiatives on display. A small reward encouraged participation and helped spark conversations about the future of solar energy and building-integrated technologies.

A Successful Outreach Moment

With around 600 people attending the Miskolc event, TRANSMIT benefited from strong public visibility. Families, students, educators and science-enthusiasts had the chance to discover how the project’s innovative energy-harvesting glazing could contribute to Europe’s clean-energy transition through:

  • near-transparent thin-film PV solutions,

  • reduced cooling demand and on-site electricity generation, and

  • sustainable materials aligned with circular-economy principles.

The approachable setting of Researchers’ Night made it easier for visitors to explore EU-funded research and understand how upcoming photovoltaic solutions may influence future buildings and cities.

Strengthening the Project’s Dissemination Efforts

The successful participation in Researchers’ Night adds to TRANSMIT’s growing list of outreach and dissemination actions. Thanks to the organisation and promotion by project partner BZN, the event provided an effective platform for raising awareness of the project’s goals and engaging the wider public in conversations about sustainable energy technologies.
