TRANSMIT at MATSUS Fall 2025

TRANSMIT was represented at the Materials for Sustainable Development (MATSUS) Fall 2025 conference, where Francesco De Nicola from INSTM, University of Tor Vergata, presented recent work on semi transparent perovskite photovoltaics developed within the project.

His talk introduced a perovskite based technology that achieves a combination of high visible transparency and competitive performance. The prototype devices reached an average visible transmittance of 43 percent, a power conversion efficiency of 7 percent, a light utilisation efficiency of 3 percent, and a colour rendering index of 89 percent. The approach relies on laser patterned thin film perovskite solar cells arranged as micro stripes separated by fully transparent gaps. This design provides both high transparency and an aesthetically clean appearance, making it well suited for applications where visual quality is essential.

This contribution helped position TRANSMIT’s work on advanced solar materials within an international community working on sustainable materials and energy technologies.
